D/S Training: How to Train and Be Trained
Workshop fee: $40/person. Buy your tickets here.
We’ve all seen it. When D/S is portrayed online, in books and in the media we see the well-trained submissive bowing perfectly to every demand of their dominant. We admire their beautiful stance and flawless comportment, clearly the result of hours of position training. We marvel at the training that results in such exquisite service to the dominant’s guests. And we can only guess at the submissive’s skill in satisfying their dominant’s every sexual desire.
Sounds great, yes? In fantasy, these moments appear magically, effortlessly, as if the submissive was born perfect.
What really happens though? The answer is: training. Mostly this is the dominant training the submissive, but it’s also (gasp) the submissive training the dominant.
Training is a complex and satisfying journey. It begins with self-awareness, detailed negotiation, and clear consent. It offers opportunities for exploration, hard work, long hours, and open communication.
Training a submissive can be one of the most rewarding aspects of a D/S relationship. It’s an opportunity to contribute to and shape another human being, calling forth architypes like Teacher, Parent and Wizard.
This workshop explores the many facets of D/S training. We’ll touch on physical training (e.g. posture and position training), transformations (e.g. pet or pony play), training for service, training for obedience, sexual training, and specialty skills like bootblacking.
We’ll explore the differences between training new submissives vs. experienced submissives, and we’ll cover training in the context of a relationship vs. the types of training that you might consider on a first date. We’ll discuss correction and punishment. And we’ll offer hints for making training work long-distance.
This is all about building connection, confidence, and intimacy. This workshop is packed with tools for tops and bottoms, and includes demonstrations, exercises, and lots to think about. As with all of Max's workshops, a handout will be provided to facilitate your learning and retention.
This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.
