Caning for the Curious
Workshop fee: $40. Pre-registration is required. Buy your tickets HERE.
They're slender, lightweight, and deceptively simple. They are also amazingly, fearsomely intense - many people view them as a particularly "heavy" toy.
Caning can be playful, sensual, challenging, or overwhelming, making it especially important to have a shared intention and to negotiate and deliver well.
This workshop helps you deliver and enjoy a caning scene. We'll discuss types of canes, types of strikes, where to hit, and safety considerations. We'll also discuss the softer skills required to manage and shape the experience and to match the scene to your intentions and negotiation. We'll talk about consent and compliance too - especially relevant with a tool that can deliver so much sensation and can leave substantial marks.
Bottoms: If you like being caned - or want to experiment with this sensation - you'll find plenty of great information. This is one of those activities where bottoms should be well educated. I'll also note that there'll be a room full of tops who also enjoy caning.
This class is full of hot demos and packed with technique. There's a substantial "hands-on" component, so bring your canes if you have any, and a practice partner if you can. Don't worry about it though, you don't need a practice partner or a cane to get full value from the class.
This workshop is appropriate for tops and bottoms and for all genders and orientations. As with all of Max's workshops, there's a handout you can use as a memory aid when you're practicing at home. The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence.
No prior knowledge of caning is assumed for this class - it's perfectly appropriate for beginners. This class also works well if you've already done some caning and want to tune up your technique.
If you can, come with a practice partner. If you don't have a partner, come anyway and we'll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques and/or get a taste of what caning can be like.
