The Many Faces of D/S

Ask anyone interested in D/S for their definition of D/S and you’ll receive a different answer.
People engage in power exchange relationships in so many different ways - from long-term D/S to pick-up play, from monogamous relationships to poly, from light touch to Master/slave. Additionally, the way we engage with D/S varies based on our circumstances - Are we introducing D/S into a vanilla relationship? Dealing with an illness? Doing D/S long distance? Channeling power through pet play or age play?
In this workshop, Max maps out a broad range of ways to explore and enjoy D/S.
We’ll see how each flavor of D/S is based upon the needs, desires and life circumstances of the individuals involved. And we’ll consider how each D/S interaction is unique and complex, both in building a solid foundation, and developing a clear trajectory.
We’ll also discuss the importance of consent and negotiation in each of these settings, and how the conversations differ based on the terms of the D/S and the underlying relationship of the involved parties.
In this workshop, Max will explore the complicated and varied world of D/S situations, including:
- Introducing D/S into a Vanilla Relationship
- Long term D/S vs. a scene vs. Pick-up Play
- Master/Slave relationships
- Total Power Exchange (TPE)
- Daddy / girl/boy D/S
- Incorporating S/M into an existing D/S relationship
- Incorporating D/S into an existing S/M relationship
- Pet Play D/S
- And many more situations…
This workshop will include lecture, demo, exercises and Q&A.
As with all of Max’s workshops, a handout will be provided to facilitate your learning and retention.
This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.
D/S is hard to learn - and hard to teach - because it’s so infinitely variable. Join us as we examine that complexity and discover ways to make your D/S rich and resonant.
