The Yu Method: A Rope Bottom’s Survival Guide Featuring Mark Yu
Workshop fee: $25.
Membership is NOT required for the workshop. Bring ID to verify that you're at least 18 years old.
Pre-registration is NOT required.
This class will be oriented towards rope bottoms with the intention of framing commonly encountered problems in a way that gives the bottom a variety of proactive and reactive ways to keep problems from escalating into more serious issues during a rope and other types of play.
Bottoms will learn skills to take control of themselves in situations that otherwise might not be handled in an optimal and timely fashion due to things such as the top or bottom’s inattention, bad judgment, or poor technique.
Common problems like dizziness, nausea, over-sweating, pain, numbness, and panic attacks will be discussed in relation to the ideas used in the Yu Method.
This class will not be analyzing and discussing these issues in a medical or anatomical / physiological fashion. This is not a safety class of what to do in a medical or other emergency.
This class can empower the bottom by teaching them how to implement the proper techniques to protect themselves from common problems encountered by Rope bottoms before they turn into urgent or emergency situations. These techniques are tried and true and based in martial arts, Oriental medicine and well known Western performance training.
This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.
