Hojojutsu is the honor based martial art of restraining a prisoner with rope. It is commonly studied for its beauty and efficiency.
Hojojutsu ties tighten with struggle, are biomechanically smart, and are visually impressive. Hojojutsu was originally designed to restrain a prisoner with rope. The result is beautiful and efficient use of rope, relying heavily on how the human body works. This work includes complex rope placement which tightens as the subject struggles.
This hands-on class assumes no previous bondage experience and leaves you with a high-level skill. It includes proper Hojojutsu rope bundling (essential to Hojojutsu practice), several basic Hojojutsu ties, and one take down.
Emphasis will be placed on both the form and function of the ties. The take down technique will make use of martial arts principles to apply a safe physical takedown to a non-trained passive or unwilling person.
Attendees should ideally attend with 3mm diameter rope in a 25’ length and someone with whom to practice. Sir C will have some rope available, and will provide an opportunity for participants to pair up if without partner. Rope Bottoms - this is your chance to meet some rope tops - come learn and get tied up!
If you don't have suitable rope, Monk (www.TwistedMonk.com) will be selling hemp rope before the workshop. Please show up 15 minutes early if you would like to buy rope.
This workshop is appropriate for all skill levels and all genders / orientations. The emphasis is on learning and having fun.
